South Carolina Friends,
Some time back I made a decision: I’m done trying to be the type of Christian that other family, friends, society, and YOU want me to be. I have to be honest to myself - I have to be honest with God! It’s time to get real.
- I love God, make no mistake about it. It’s my life-pursuit to serve Him. If I’m gonna be real with you, though, here are the simple facts:
- I don’t always feel like praying
- I don’t always feel like reading my bible
- I get confused with the bible a lot
- I don’t like most Christians
- I pray for strength and wisdom, yet I still make the same stupid mistakes
- Many times I don’t feel like God is listening
- I don’t always feel like doing the right thing
- Usually I want to do the wrong thing
Being a Christ follower is freakin hard
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to not be a Christian for a day
I KNOW somebody wants to say “Amen!”
Let’s just be honest with each other.
Listen: YOU are special and unique person. Don’t let the standard Christian mold shape who you are in Christ. Let’s pursue Jesus the King together and allow HIM to show us who we are - not MTV, not Hollywood, not even the church.
I’m starting a small group. It launches Monday, June 11th (most likely). I have no idea what I’m doing and I’m incapable of leading a small group (sounds temping, eh??).
Here’s the plan: I’m gonna step aside and let God do big God things! If He’s calling me to lead this group, then I’m gonna obey and let Him steer the ship.
I’m freakin pumped up!! A small group lead by God - heck yeah!!

I have a big enough place to fit the group (finally). Also, we have a beautiful place out back, overlooking a pond, where we could throw out some blankets and chill (weather permitting).
