I served the people of Nicaragua on a team of 22 individuals. We were an interesting group to say the least. Take all of our baggage and throw it into a barrel. Reach in and you might find…
- rape
- verbal abuse
- physical abuse
- abortion
- molestation
- homosexuality
- drug addition
- alcohol abuse
- abandonment
- divorce
- death of parents
- death of best friends
- anxiety
- depression
- promiscuity
It’s incredible how God can take a group of beat-down and busted-up nobodies and bring them together for the glory of his kingdom.
My job isn’t and never will be to convert you. All I can do is tell you how much God loves you and how he has changed me. I’m never looking back. My perspective is different. My life will never be the same.

And it couldn’t have been a more amazing group of people! And no judgement from anyone… that’s the way it is supposed to be.
Dude, seriously?
I know you mean well, but putting ‘homosexuality’ and ‘divorce’ on the same list with rape and death is a LITTLE overboard.
MorseC0de,
Would you believe me if I told you that I completely understand what you’re saying?
It’s a list of what people have dealt with. There is no kind of degree of how “bad” something is in the post. You completely missed the point.
Perhaps, Tiff. Wouldn’t be the first time.
After sitting through the stories each night, I have never been more blown away by the Grace of God. As someone who’s been a skeptic through a portion of their life, it’s almost impossible to hear the things people have gone through; see the way their lives look now after being picked up, washed clean, and loved unconditionally by our Lord, and not wonder how I ever questioned the existence of a God. He is so good and no one is too far from Him to be redeemed and made new. Thanks for giving all of our trials and tribulations and in the end victories, a voice!
You see the grace of God but I see the power of the human capacity to make the best of a situation.
I wonder if the difference is merely semantic?
I’d say it has to be semantic because, as you’re quick to point out, we have no concrete way to know which of us is right and which of us is wrong. How we word it is merely betting on our respective horse.
